Four years
The aquarium has already been running for four years. Recently, I added a couple of Siamese fighting fish (Betta splendens). Two of the first three I had, died. Now I have one male and two females. In the stores they warn against having the bettas together with other fish because the others will nip their fins. I have even Serpae tetras (Hyphessobrycon eques) in the aquarium but no other fish touch the bettas.
Besides the bettas, an Angelfish (Pterophyllum scalare) recently died. It was one of the very first ones I bought four years ago. There is only one left from those ones – a big black one. A Siamese algae eater (Crossocheilus siamensis) died too and two Serpae tetras.
Some time ago I accidently ordered the Easy Life Profito fertilizer. So I used it instead of the Seachem Flourish one. I use double as much compared to the Seachem. And it was necessary to reduce the dose of the Seachem Iron fertilizer to half. The aquarium runs, nevertheless it seems to me some plants were better with Seachem Flourish.
